2010 Fall CKS
Intramural Basketball Program
This summer basketball program is open to all boys and girls, who will be either entering grades K-3 at Christ the King School or who's family is a member of Christ the King Parish and the child attends a different school
WHAT: 7 week "introductory" basketball program focusing on teaching kids the fundamentals of basketball, from dribbling to passing to shooting as well as offense and defense.
Players will be divided up by grade (randomly) into teams of 5-7 players, depending on the enrollment level and will participate in group, team and individual drills, as well as short games each week.
Division 1: Kindergarten
Division 2: 1st Graders
Division 3: 2nd and 3rd Graders
WHEN: Teams will participate in one hour Drills/Games weekly on Saturdays. (Note: schedule may change due to gym availability)
Tentative Game Schedule:
Week 1: July 31
Week 4: August 21
Week 2: August 7 Week 5:
August 28
Week 3: August 14 Week 6:
September 11
*Optional Practice: July 24
Division 3 will have one practice scheduled weekly, determined by individual team coaches, but not more than (1) one practice will be allowed weekly.
Division 1 & 2 may also attend one practice a week but this will be at the discretion of the individual coaches.
WHERE: All games and practices are scheduled to be held at Tuohy Hall (Christ the King), however an alternative gym (Indiana Junior Academy) may be used, if Tuohy Hall is unavailable.
COST: The cost is $25 for each participant. Each participant will get a TEAM SHIRT and an “End of Season” participation gift.
