A Letter from the Principal
Reminders

Mr. Scott Stewart

Welcome to the website for Christ the King Catholic School!  I hope you will find your visit informative and worthwhile.

This is my fifth year as Principal of Christ the King Catholic School.  In years prior I have served as a teacher, coach, and assistant principal at Roncalli Catholic High School.  My education through high school was in the Catholic system.

I have made a decision to commit my life’s work to education, the Catholic way.  I am a product of it and I believe in it wholeheartedly!  It is truly a blessing for me to serve the Christ the King community as Principal of its school.

For the catechetical year 2008-2009, the United States Congress of Catholic Bishops has adopted, "The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church" as theme.  The Bishops tell us, "While the focus is certainly on Sacred Scripture, the Word of God is larger than Sacred Scripture:  the Word of God is Jesus Christ, the only Son of God."  In my view, this theme provides our school community with a challenging opportunity.  To help the students we serve gain a fuller understanding of Jesus and the Scriptures, and of how they both can be made more central to our school, our parish, and out lives.  Once again, our Catholic Bishops have provided direction for our school that will lead us directly to the heart of the importance of our Catholic school.  We exist for academic growth AND to fan the spark of Christ in all of us until it becomes a flame!

This 2008-2009 school year will be exciting!  We have several staff new to CKS that bring much love, creativity, and enthusiasm.  Additionally, we will continue to enjoy our school air-conditioning, new windows, lights and ceilings among other physical plant improvements.  This communities willingness to share time, talent, and treasure to benefit the school is appreciated more than words can explain.  Students, parents, faculty, and staff make Christ the King Catholic School special!  Our Pastor, Fr. Tony Volz, the parish staff, and the entire CTK congregation provide the wind on which our school soars!

Again, thank you for visiting our website.  If you have comments, questions, or suggestions please e-mail me at sstewart@cks-indy.org.
