Last Wednesday, the
12th of
November, you should
have received two
test messages from
our new School
Messenger parent
notification system.
One voice
message was on your
home and/or cell
phone, the other
typed message was
sent to the one
e-mail we have on
file per parent.
If you did
not receive one of
the above
notifications,
please inform Patty
Holtz in the
business office.
I
would like to share
with you a few
pertinent details
that were discovered
after out initial
test of the system
last week.
Several parents
called in to say
that they answered
their phones but no
message, or only a
partial
message, was heard.
We were
informed that if a
call is answered and
the system detects a
length of background
noise, the system
thinks a voice mail
recording has answered.
If the
background noise
continues, the
system will
simply hang
up and try
the call again in 15
minutes.
The 15 minute
re-call will happen
up to 4 times, if
necessary.
Also,
if the phone message
goes to your
voicemail or
answering machine
then the instruction
to press “star” to
repeat the message,
or press “0” to
respond to the
message will not
work.
Lastly, we were
informed that some
families have some
kind of “privacy
manager” phone
feature in place.
If you use
this phone feature,
please make sure our
school number
(257-9366) is not
blocked.
Congratulations to
the CKS Academic
Olympic team and
coach Wenclewicz for
making it to the
final match! It will
be held on December
13th.
This is the
second final match
in 3 years for CKS
(the other year we
were in the final
4!).
Last
Saturday, they beat
Our Lady of
Mount Carmel
in overtime to get
to the final.
